Base Schedules establish a predictable rotation of job, shift and location that an employee works. There are three different ways to create a New Base Schedule by copying one that already exists, by copying a Work Pattern that already exists or create anew.
Create a Base Schedule by copying
1. Click on the Administration icon .
2. Select Base Schedule Management from the Employee Management section.
3. Click the +New button.
4. Select the element you wish to copy.
Note: You can either select to copy a previous base schedule
clicking on Copy From drop down, or to replicate an existing work pattern from
Copy Work Pattern drop down.
5. Enter Name, Short Name and Description for the New Base Schedule.
6. Click on the calendar to select a start date. Note: The start date will be the first of the pattern.
7. On the Bids field enter the desired number of employees that can be assigned to the Base Schedule at any one time.
8. From the Organizational Unit drop-down select the organizational unit the Base Schedule belongs to.
9. Under Validity section, check off the Indefinite option, if you wish your Base Schedule to have indefinite validity. Un-check the option and manually adjust the dates by clicking on the calendar if you wish to set a specific validity period.
10. Under Preferences section click on the plus sign . You can enter more than one rows.
11. From the respective drop-downs select Type, Job/Job Location and Shift.
12. Click Save button.
Create a Base Schedule by defining On and Off Days
1. Click on the Administration icon .
2. Select Base Schedule Management from the Employee Management section.
3. Click the +New button.
4. Enter Name, Short Name and Description for the New Base Schedule.
5. Click the arrows next to Copy Work Pattern. Notice the field changes to Days.
6. On Days field enter the number of days this Base Schedule will last.
7. Click on the calendar to select a start date.
8. On the Bids field enter the desired number of employees that can be assigned to the Base Schedule at any one time.
9. From the Organizational Unit drop-down select the organizational unit the Base Schedule belongs to.
10. Under Validity section, check off the Indefinite option, if you wish your Base Schedule to have indefinite validity. Un-check the option and manually adjust the dates by clicking the calendar , if you wish to set a specific validity period.
11. Under Preferences section click on the plus sign .

13. Click Save button.
14. Under Design tab, search for the Base Schedule you created. Click on the right arrow .
15. Click on the On days to change them to Off and vice versa.
16. After modifying the work pattern, click on the Save button.
Note: Under Preferences section the options are in descending order.
