module, please contact us for help.
The Advanced Features module consists of two main features:
Swap Approval
Employees can leverage Indeavor Engage/Kiosk to swap assignments with other employees, allowing them to improve their autonomy while keeping the integrity of the schedule intact. Employees can agree to cover for each other, which lets them prioritize getting the time off they want ensuring their previously assigned position remains covered by another employee.
The Swap Approval tool allows supervisors to approve or reject swap requests and dropped assignment pickups that their employees have submitted.
Types of swaps:
-
Direct trades
- employee 1 creates a trade for employee 2 to accept/reject
-
Offers to Swap Board
- employee 1 offers an assignment to the Swap Board, other employees can see this and create counter offers, and then employee 1 can accept the offer they prefer
-
Dropping of Assignments
- employee 1 can drop their assignment for others if they’d like to pick it up without them offering anything in return
-
Dropping of Assignments and adding a conditional leave request in place of the dropped assignment
- employee 1 can drop their assignment and when the supervisor approves another employee picking up this assignment, employee 1 will get a leave in place for dropped assignment
See Swapping: Employee Workflows for more information.

Manual Swap
The Manual Swap is intended for supervisors to swap assignments or assignments/RDOs on behalf of employees.
Types of swaps:
-
Assignment swaps (assignment for assignment or also referred to as Non-Package Swap)
- One employee must be working Shift A and the other employee must be working Shift B on the same day
-
Mutual Day swaps (assignment/RDO for assignment/RDO or also referred to as a Package Swap)
- One employee works on Day 1 and is off on Day 2. The other employee must be off on Day 1 and working on Day 2
- The day off that the employees receive as a part of a mutual day swap can be either RDO or a special type of RDO (a leave type selected in Swap Leave settings). In the Indeavor Schedule, this leave type can be put in place of an RDO if the settings call for it
- When an employee is involved in a mutual day swap, the assignment can have an attribute attached on the Roster
