This Workflow/functionality requires the use of Labor Demand Planning
and is intended for Schedulers & Administrator End-Users.
Post Bulk Update
The Post Bulk Update feature allows demand planners to edit groups of posts within existing demands without having to remove and replace the entire demand set. Previously this was only possible via editing posts one by one. This feature makes it possible to search for a specific subset of posts, select them and either remove or modify them all in a specific way. This feature is important if you have long term demands that require edits for long periods of time and don’t want those edits to change previously scheduled assignments.
Workflows
To view the Bulk Editing options, open a demand with View Posts from the Demand Planning timeline. Note these bulk editing features are not available in the View all Posts view as they are intended to be for all posts in a specific demand:
Once in the demand, the posts that are visible can be filtered using the Filters button in the top right corner. Using a filter will ensure that only the posts that match your criteria will show:
The Template Shift field behaves differently from the other scheduling dimensions fields. This doesn’t look for posts with that shift on them, instead it looks for posts that were placed in a scenario with a specific shift. This allows demands to be searchable by shift without having to include a shift on the demands which is sometimes problematic. This field in Scenario creation is where this data point comes from:
To do a bulk action select row(s) with the check box next to the rows you want to modify:
Note: selecting a template level will select all posts in that template
exposed in the filter
Once at least one row is selected, the bulk actions become available. Before a row is selected, the bulk actions button is greyed out. There are two options, Bulk Edit and Bulk Delete:
Bulk Edit will update the selected posts in the manner specified by you. Only posts that fall within the Update Time Frame will be updated. This allows you to target a subset of the posts (for example: You have a year long demand and want to update the minimum on a post starting in July).
Note: Any fields left blank in the Edit Posts window will leave those fields the
same as they are on the existing posts. So if the user updates the Min/Opt/Max
of a post but doesn’t specify a job, the job will remain as it is on the posts
that are within the Update Time Frame.
It is also possible to update the start and end times of posts. This can be done using the offsets fields. These behave the same as offsets in templates, they update the posts to have the specified offsets relative to their parent template instances.
For example: if a post is under a template which is from 9am-5pm and you specify a start time of 1 hour before template start and 30 minutes after template end, the post will be given a time of 8am-5:30pm. If there is another post in the same bulk update that is under a template from 5pm-1am, that post will be given times of 4pm-1:30am.
Note: hitting the save button will queue a task to apply the changes immediately.
The View Posts page used to have a Save and Close button. That has been removed.
Changes are now immediately permanently saved.
You will be given a notification in the bottom left corner that a task has been queued for the update.
Once the update is completed, a new message will appear saying the update is complete and the data in the timeline will be auto refreshed.
You are able to view any of the tasks in Task Monitoring. They will have Post Bulk Update listed as the type:
You also have the availability to Bulk Delete posts. Here you can specify the time range in which you want to delete posts, and the action you want to happen to any assignments currently associated with those posts:
Note: When you hit delete, you will receive the same notifications that you receive
when bulk updating (listed above).
All deletion tasks will appear in Task Monitoring with Posts Bulk delete listed as the type:
