Definitions
Explicit Time is when you set an actual time of day the request will become
available or unavailable.
Time Relative to Assignment is when you set a number of hours and minutes
before or after the employee’s actual assignment for the request to become
available or unavailable.
Example: if I set a Time Relative to Assignment of 2 Hours 0 Minutes before
the assignment, in an after statement, employees whose first assignment is
at 6:00am will be able to begin making requests at 4:00am, while employees
whose first assignment is at 2:00pm will be able to begin making requests
at 12:00pm.
Note: This will always take the employee’s first assignment on the day.
Think about use cases where employees may hold over from the previous
day when considering whether to use this one!

before or after the employee’s default shift for the request to become
available or unavailable.
Example: if I set a Time Relative to Default Shift of 2 Hours 0 Minutes
before the shift, in an after statement, employees who regularly work at
6:00am will be able to begin making requests at 4:00am, while employees
who regularly work at 2:00pm will be able to begin making requests at 12:00pm.
